The goal of the project is to develop a low cost, modular neuroprosthetic arm. The prosthetic will be developed using rapid prototyping technologies and is open source so that others may construct and build upon the design. A supervised machine learning algorithm currently under development is used to analyze both electromyographic and neurofeedback according to prosthetic configuration. This hybrid modular design utilizing electromyography (EMG) and electroencephalography (EEG) based upon prosthetic configuration and amputation type, is extremely innovative at such a low price point, and allows for the prosthetic to assist as many people as possible. The field of prosthetics is rapidly advancing, and this project aims to contribute to the growing field in a substantial way.
